White and Olive Front Tie Top & An Honest LipSense Review

Happy Thursday!

I have been thinking lately how I want to feed y'all more quality & useful information, rather than just showing you what I am wearing that day. Because of that, once a week I am going to have a post up giving an honest review of a product that either I have purchased recently or of one that was sent to me.

So, to start off the "weekly review", I am going to be reviewing LipSense by SeneGence. Let me start off by saying up until about a year ago, you couldn't even get me to wash my face, let alone put on foundation and lipstick/gloss. This slowly started culminating into wearing tinted primer, then foundation, & now even lipstick.

I have been trying to find a great lipstick or lipgloss that wasn't too expensive, because let's be honest, for the first time in my life, I just made it through an entire chapstick without losing it (huge milestone people). So I never wanted to invest in something that I was most likely going to misplace or break.

Throughout my typical day, I am eating (a lot), drinking coffee, changing clothes, taking photos, biting my lips, etc, so I have been finding myself re-applying about every hour. I do, however, love the look of lipstick. I feel like my lips have started to lose their color (yes, mom, you were right), so I love one that goes along with my natural lip color because it doesn't look like I really have something on. Over the last few months, I have been trying to find one that would last more than an hour, and someone recommended that I try out LipSense.

I had heard about LipSense and seen other bloggers trying it out, where some had said they felt a tingly sensation when they first put it on, which scared me a little bit. I finally worked up the courage when Kristi messaged me out of the blue asking if I had ever tried it before, to which my response was, "no but I've been dying to!"

So what exactly is LipSense?

*Let me start off by saying that this is not a sponsored post, I am not getting paid to write a review or say I love this nor will I EVER tell you to buy something that I myself don't love & use*

LipSense by SeneGence is said to be smudge-proof, water-proof, kiss-proof, long-wear lipstick. This comes from SeneGence's long wear patented lip adhesive formula, sealing top-coat  and multi-layer coating process. There are currently over 70 different shades, to which I have seen many people mixing and matching different ones throughout the 3 layers to create even more looks.

My Review

One week after first communicating with Kristi, my adorable little package arrived with 3 different containers & a sheet on how to apply it! Kristi had been messaging me a few times asking if I had received it and how it was going so far, so when I received the package, I immediately texted her telling her that I was about to do a test run before my shoot the next day.

The application seemed a bit tedious, especially since I hadn't been wearing lipstick for that long. You have to put each layer on in one quick swoop because if you try to go back over with the brush again, it will create a patchy look. However, after the first few times of wearing it, I was able to create the best way of applying, for me, & now I consider myself a pro :)

The Oops! Remover I don't think is completely necessary as I have found that make-up wipes can get it off, but it absolutely much easier if you use the remover. Also, the Oops! Remover works to help while applying if you mess up while applying, so I would suggest having the remover just in case.

One thing that I love about LipSense is that the formula is created to prevent the growth of bacteria in the tubes. To much of my dismay, all companies are not required to do this, so I greatly appreciate keeping the bacteria out of my body. I have read that this is where the tingly sensation comes from when you first put it on, that just like when you put alcohol on a wound, it burns, so what you are feeling (which may feel uncomfortable to some people) is the alcohol keeping your tubes clean, PRAISE.

So, after applying in the morning and wearing throughout the day, I did not have to apply once! You could seen the closer to the inside of my mouth had worn off slightly, but it wasn't noticeable enough for me to have to re-apply. I was shocked at how long it lasted, I even wore it to bed that night to test the longevity and to much surprise, I woke up, still being able to see it on my lips and it had not smudged onto my pillow.

After a week of using the product, I came to realize that the key to making the color last is to re-apply to "Glossy" coat every 4-5 hours. You don't have to reapply the actual color, just the glossy coat if you are eating and drinking coffee, water, etc. throughout the day.

All in all, I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. LipSense did exactly what I wanted it to, keeping color on my lips all day. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 is because my lips felt a little chapped and dry after I took it off, but overall, this product is amazing! The color I wore was "Luv It" and while it was absolutely beautiful, it was a bit too peachy for me, however, Pink Champagne is my absolute FAVORITE! I have only tried two others, but can't wait to test the others and start mixing & matching them.
