Monthly Edit: TULA Probiotic Skincare
Happy Monday!
We have had the most amazing honeymoon so far, thank you to everyone who has sent their well wishes. I wanted to start doing what I call a “Monthly Edit” on a new product I have been testing. Whether this be skin care, hair, detergent, etc., there are no boundaries on this. I will be doing at least one of these a month and each product I do a review on, I will have been using for at least one month so that I have enough information on whether I like it or not and whether I have seen a change from before using whatever the product may be.
For my first Monthly Edit, I will be reviewing a couple of products that were sent to me from TULA. Please keep in mind that while TULA is sponsoring this post, all opinions are that of my own and I would NEVER recommend a product to you that I would not use or purchase myself.
With that being said, let me give you a little bit of background information on my skin. For my entire life, as long as I can remember, I have had dry skin. I played volleyball and tennis so my hands were always extremely dry because of diving on the floor and holding a racquet. Growing up, I was always embarrassed to hold a boys hand (silly, I know), because my hands were always so dry I thought they would make fun of them. Now that I am older and have started washing my face and wearing more makeup, my face is always dry. No matter what I do, by the end of the day I need to put an entire other layer of cream because my makeup is flaking.
I have previously told you all about the Elephants Milk cream I had been recommended and while it worked to help keep my skin a little less dry, it was also a very heavy, thick cream that felt more like a night-time cream than one that I wanted to wear all day. So, when TULA approached me about partnering together, I was more than willing to give it a try after all the amazing things I had heard from other people.
When I received my package from TULA, there were a bunch of different products to sample. In the package were the following: Hydrating Day & Night Cream, Revitalizing Eye Cream, Exfoliating Treatment Mask & the Moisture Locking 18% Shea Butter Hair and Nail Therapy Cream. All of these products have probiotic technology in them, and I’m sure not a lot of you really know what that means, so here’s a little background on the company:
In Sanskrit, TULA means balance. Throughout everything in my life, I am always trying to find balance, whether it be between friends and family, or finding time to make myself happy & healthy through exercise. Everything in life should be in balance. When I learned that TULA was about helping women find balance in their lives, I instantly felt connected to them & knew this would be a great partnership.
The founder of TULA, Dr. Roshini Raj, found that probiotics aren’t just for your gut anymore and that they can help to naturally balance and boost the health of your skin. The probiotics in these products are combined with other AHA’s, antioxidants and retinols. The products are meant to nourish the skin the same way a healthy diet nourishes the body.
Now that you have the background on TULA, I wanted to tell you about two of the products I have used so far: the Revitalizing Eye Cream and Hydrating Day & Night Cream. I will do a review on the other two later because I didn’t want to overload you with information.
Like I was saying earlier, I have some of the driest skin I have ever seen. Every time I walk into Sephora or go to get my eyebrows waxed, someone comments about how dry my skin is: I GET IT. I have been trying different products for about two years now, and the TULA Hydrating Day & Night Cream is the best I have found to date. I have tried about 7 different ones and am being completely honest when I say that even my makeup artist for my wedding noticed a difference. I thought I had seen a difference, but she confirmed my beliefs. As she was doing my makeup on Saturday she said “you skin isn’t as dry as it was when I saw you a month ago!”
I was shocked. I have never had someone notice something like that. Normally I hear “girl, why is your skin so dry?” I was speechless. When I was finally able to form words, I told her I had started using TULA, to which she responds, “ah that must be why”. She had heard about the wonders that TULA does for your skin and I had been a living proof example. She saw my skin before & after TULA and now wants to get some for herself because she deals with dry skin as well.
With dry skin comes wrinkles, and as beautiful as my mother is, she spent too much time in the sun with no protection. Because of this, over the last probably year I have been very aware of always having some kind of protection on my face to try and keep away the wrinkles as I age. With my wedding having just come and gone, the last month has been very stressful with minimal amounts of sleep which caused dark bags under my eyes. When I started using this product, I came to realize that those bags were not as dark when I would use the Revitalizing Eye Cream. They weren’t completely gone (not even the best concealer could cover up those babies), but they were significantly less. I have seen my skin looking clearer and fuller, with my crows feet not being as bad.
Overall, I am in love with TULA products. I want to try everything in their product line to see what other great things they can do for my skin. My skin is softer, my under eye bags are almost completely gone & the lines around my eyes are much less than they were before TULA. If a makeup artist notices your skin changing, you know you have hit the jackpot!
Below I will link all of the products I have been trying and will continue to keep you updated on how my skin is doing!
