Henri Bendel Convertible Travel Bag
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!
I was going to share this post yesterday but unfortunately didn’t have any internet the whole day we were flying so I wanted to share this with you all now.
For those who don’t know, I got married to my best friend this past weekend in my hometown of Charleston, SC. It was hands-down the best day of my life and we could not have dreamed of a more perfect weekend celebrating with everyone. While we have been planning our honeymoon the last two months, I had been trying to find a classic, stylish, book bag that wasn’t one I used in college. I wanted the functionality of a book bag but the classic look of a handbag. -> Insert Henri Bendel: the greatest man who thought of every traveling, fashion-forward girl out there and created one of the best bags I have ever come across.
Let me start this off with saying a have a very long list of very expensive handbags that I hope to one day have (highly unlikely, but hey, a girl’s gotta dream, right?). Some of these include Prada, Celine, Chloe, and many more. However, for now, I wanted to find one that was a little more affordable but still was the classic, elegant look of a $4,000 handbag.
A couple of years ago I saw an ad somewhere about a designer called Henri Bendel & a convertible bag that can be used as a handbag or a backpack. I instantly fell in love with the classic, sleek, elegant lines of the bag while also having an affordable price. While I didn’t need this bag at the time, I knew that one day I would so I stored the designer name in the back of my mind for when I did need it. Well, ladies & gentleman, that day is finally here.
Let me tell you a little bit about these bags: they are AH-MAZING. If you have ever had a LongChamp handbag, the material is the same which makes it incredibly easy to clean. The bag, properly called “The Jetsetter Convertible Nylon Backpack”, comes in many different colors and they have two different sizes: the regular & the mini. The color of mine is “PORT”, and is deep red wine colored.

What I love about this bag is how easy it is to convert it from a handbag to a backpack. When you receive the bag, the strap is not attached. It comes attached as one piece separate from the actual bag itself to make it available for use as a satchel. If you wish to use it as a backpack, take the strap and “un-button” the straps from each other, hook the first strap to the bottom of the back side of the bag, then clip it through the holder at the top of the bag. Repeat this step for the other strap as well. Adjust the straps to where you feel comfortable taking it on and off, and voila! You now have your new favorite backpack.
I will post a video later to show just how easy this is. I was a little nervous the first time because I never had seen anyone do this, but quickly realized how simple it was to convert.
This was one of the only things I actually purchased for our honeymoon. I didn’t want to go out a buy a bunch of things that I would only use while we are travelling, rather, would put money that would have been used for junk towards a nice bag that will be a part of my collection for the next 20+ years.
While this bag seems to be an expensive purchase, if you look at the functionality and everything it can do for you, it’s worth the price. These backpacks are also on sale right now for 20% off! You seriously will not regret getting this bag! I had this bag as my airplane bag and it didn’t get dirty through the three different airports and 20 hours of travelling we did yesterday. Even if you aren’t going on a big trip coming up, this bag will be one of the it-bags of the season because of it’s elegant design and beautiful colors.

Enjoy!
